Indian mangoes come in many
shapes, sizes and colours and innumerable varieties in flavour, aroma and
taste. The raw fruit is used for preparing pickles, chutneys (spices or
otherwise flavoured paste in fresh or preserved form) and fruit drinks.
Fruit drink prepared from the unripe green fruit is as delicious as those
prepared from ripe mangoes and is quite commonly consumed as an antidote
against excessive heat. Both in the unripe and ripe form, the fruit is
recognised as having excellent nutritional value. |
